Dr. Keel is a highly skilled and experienced dermatologist in San Diego California combining a meticulous aesthetic eye with the latest techniques in advanced cosmetic and laser surgery.  In addition to his “warm and compassionate” demeanor Dr. Keel is an expert in non-invasive facial rejuvenation including dermal fillers, laser & IPL treatments and photodynamic therapy.  Following his passion for only the best in quality of care and hospitality, Dr. Keel created Pacific Dermatology & Cosmetic Laser Center, the premiere destination in San Diego for cosmetic rejuvenation and expert skin care.

As a Board Certified Dermatologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. Keel provides expert diagnosis and treatment of all conditions of the skin, hair and nails for persons of all ages including children and the elderly.  The unique ability to provide the art of cosmetic enhancement with the most advanced science in medical skin care has enabled Dr. Keel to be selected as one of America’s Top Dermatologists in 2009 by the Consumers Research Council of America.

Dr. Keel graduated from The University of California Irvine then earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center graduating with honors in the top 10% of his class.   He was fortunate in school to be selected for a Navy Health Profession Scholarship which allowed him to practice medicine as a Naval Flight Surgeon around the world.  Returning to San Diego for residency training in Dermatology, Dr. Keel was mentored by some of the leading laser and cosmetic surgeons in the country, developing expertise in laser resurfacing, leg vein treatment, liposculpture, and hair restoration.  In 2002, he was the only physician in the country to receive the prestigious resident research award for surgical applications awarded by the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery.

Dr. Keel has been an investigator for Allergan (makers of Botox, Juvederm and Latisse), Medicis (Dysport, Restylane and Perlane) and Galderma (Metvixia cream for photodynamic therapy), and has authored numerous manuscripts published in peer-reviewed medical journals.  Dr. Keel has been featured on the local news discussing skin cancer prevention, non-invasive facial rejuvenation, scar treatments and the newest facial filler products.   He has also been featured in the national media including MSNBC discussing the importance of selecting an appropriate laser surgeon and Elle magazine on the most effective way to eliminate leg veins.  Dr. Keel has had opportunities to live and practice in some of the most sun exposed areas of the country including California, Hawaii, Texas, and Florida.

Dr. Keel is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.  He currently serves as the Dermatology Section Chief at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla.  Beyond work, Dr. Keel enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and on weekends appreciates the benefits of outdoor sporting activities.
