Juvéderm® XC is a non-surgical, physician-administered treatment. Juvéderm® XC is a smooth HA gel filler that is injected into the dermis using a fine needle. It has lidocaine (the same anesthetic that dentists use) to make the injection more comfortable. The result is younger looking skin without the appearance of wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm® XC can be used for the following wrinkles and folds:
Smile lines (Parentheses): folds that run from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth.
Marionette lines: vertical facial wrinkles and folds that form below the corners of the mouth giving the appearance of a down turned expression.
Vertical lines: facial wrinkles around the lips.
Almost anybody can get a Juvéderm® XC treatment. It is safe and effective for all people. It will not cause unwanted pigmentation or scarring. After a treatment of Juvéderm® XC, you will see the results immediately! There are no long-term side effects associated with Juvéderm® XC . The short-term side effects are usually localized bleeding or bruising at the injection site, which is more common in the lip area or in the lower eye area around the lower eyelid. These side effects usually heal within a day or two.
